Missions Operations Manager
About Earth Observant Inc. (EOI): Based in Louisville, Colorado, EOI is developing a unique low-flying constellation of small satellites to collect ultra-high-resolution imagery to support a wide range of earth observation applications from Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) using its proven, patent-pending electric propulsion technology. By operating closer to Earth than ever before, EOI will capture our planet's highest commercially available views from Space for real-time intelligence, asset monitoring, and situation awareness. EOI's Satellites-as-a-Service model will provide governmental entities and other companies with another technology to gather data previously unavailable in the commercial marketplace.
Role Responsibilities:
- Ensures the Mission Operations teams execute the agreed-upon scope within cost & schedule constraints
- Supports mission ops planning and execution for delivered systems
- Provides support to reviews & monthly reporting, action item tracking, task & resource management
- Interfaces with Space and Ground Engineering, Product Engineering, Business, and Leadership to ensure flow up, down, and across of information as well as give receivers and collaboration
- Manages operations and commissioning teams. Responsible for the crew, training, day-to-day operations, and Anomaly Resolution
- Manages Product support team. Responsible for collection planning, order management, product dissemination, and customer account management
- Responsible for ensuring the dissemination of products and interfacing with the customer directly
- Identify areas where technology can assist the client to achieve desired outcomes and roadmaps
- Owns the outcome delivery to clients including the full life cycle from onboarding to service operations
- Utilizes consultative skills to understand client success criteria and the related business requirements
- Closely collaborates with other teams to improve service delivery, system stability, and experience
- Perform risk assessments to indicate trends with products and services for clients
- Build and manage the development of teammates both professionally and technically
- Working in a fast-paced matrixed environment with multiple priorities to support clients and launch
- Lead projects through tasking and managing status updates of various teams
- Improve operational efficiency of systems and processes to support
- Manage and monitor deliverables of the various functional organizations supporting the mission
- Lead regular meetings with the team to discuss issues and concerns with resolutions in an effort to improve employee engagement
- Facilitate decision-making in a timely manner to support execution and capture timelines, resolving urgent issues affecting the operations and business rhythm of EOI Space
Role Requirements:
- With extensive experience in the space domain, LEO is ideal, and MEO is the second choice
- Prior experience managing full campaigns, including rehearsals & preplanning
- Experience building operations teams and hiring staff, performance management, and development
- True Satellite Constellations experience
- Launch & Commissioning experience (ideal if commissioning of multiple satellites at a time)
- Experience with product operations
- Experience working in a professional environment leading people
- Proven history of building and maintaining positive, productive, long-term working relationships at all levels throughout an organization
- Highly preferred past experience in a start-up or small to medium-sized organization
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative management style and inherent driver to deliver on commitments
- Ability to effectively work across multiple organizations to form teams gain internal support and achieve business results
- Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations implementing best practices
